Works and looks great

I played around with all the functions I could think of and had no problems with anything. Switched service to T-Mobile and activation was problem free. If you have really good vision or a magnifying glass you might be able to see small scuffs on the side and back, but they are not noticeable in daily use, insignificant, and covered by the phone protector anyways. I'm glad a friend talked me into buying a previously used iPhone 8 and avoiding the price and oversized form of a new phone.
