Surprise at quality
This is a solid product. Well made and small in size to fit almost anywhere. The switch function has a nice feel that indicated very good contact and spring function.
Have had it up to 100 amps, but have not tested it for the 150 amp cut out.

The little scilloscope that could
6 of 6 found this helpful Got the unit and set it up with a Dell e4300 laptop. It checked out with my Heath Kit Oscilloscope calibrator. I really like that it did all the math and you could save the information.
I decided to use it to check out a suspected full bridge rectifier from a welder so that I could compare the saved video with a known good rectifier. It was set up to check the DC out put from the rectifier into a load while the input AC was controlled. Using a DSO-138 oscilloscope to make sure everything was safe and the out put was a nasty looking DC at five volts., I put the probe on 10x, attached the ground to negative and touched the positive output. There was a little hiss inside the DDS-120 and it became a nice little paper weight.
What can I say. There must have been a load somewhere even though the laptop was not plugged into AC. Send it back? Not me. I am sticking with the little DSO-138, do the math, and make drawings.
My opinion is that the five volts input max allows too much room for error. And there is no protection. Even though I was set up for 50 volts with the probe, I missed something and even if I could get it repaired, I would not be comfortable using it. Good for some that really know all the tricks to look for, but not good for this old farmer.
Update. Went inside the DDS-120's box and took a look. Nothing seemed burnt. Hooked it back up to the laptop and guess what? It began to work! Used it to check a circuit board with the 1mv test signal and it worked just fine. If you are looking for something to work with low voltage, this will do fine for the DIY experimenter. Also, it seems to have more than one life..

WS-200D inexpensive DC welder
I have had this welder now for two months and had it in operation for approximately 20 hours actually welding. In stick welding it starts smoothly and holds a nice steady ark. Using it in Electro negative or positive, it performs better than transformer machines I have used. The MIG process starts the ark without touching and bringing it up on amperage from zero the ark starts very smoothly. If it had a foot pedal, it would really be something. As it is for my farm projects, it does a great job. I have been worried about the power MOSFETs holding up as I have a plasma cutter that failed in that respect, but so far this unit is running as advertised. One thing about these machines is that should a component go bad, a good retailer can provide the parts. You may be down for a month while they are in transit, but they can be obtained. And, the unit is not that hard to take apart and change out parts..
For the money I feel the unit is doing what it was advertised to do.
