I purchased this for when our power goes out, so that I can still make phone calls using the landline.
The real problems with this thing are that the key board is really small and DOES NOT ILLUMINATE.
so you might find yourself in pitch black trying to make a call while you fumble with the key pad in the dark.
I would recommend keeping a small LED flashlight velcro'ed to this thing.
Otherwise, not bad.
Ringer OK, listening volume good, and people listening to me on this thing said sound quality was excellent.
Plus, its cheap, so what the heck, just buy it!

These are the correct ones, with the removable tips.
No longer in production.
