Very good product.

Soft enough to go on smoothly. Sharpens easily to a soft point. The smoky taupe color is good for someone with greying hair -- to avoid raccoon eyes. I don't find this color anywhere else at any price.

Happy to find a few plates of a discontinued style

This product has been discontinued so I was happy to be able to find some replacement plates to match what I have already. FYI . . . Oddly, the Lausanne dinner plate seems to come in both 10-1/2" and 10-3/4" diameter. I have found no mention of this fact in any sales materials. I have some of both sizes and prefer the smaller. The difference is only slightly discernible -- the slight difference in width, of course, plus a slightly thicker rim and heavier weight for the larger plate. It also seems to me that the glaze of the larger plates will allow permanent stains, but I haven't seen evidence of this on the smaller plates. I have also found that the salad plates are slightly different from the dinner plates. The transition from the rim to the bowl of the salad plate is sharper than the very smooth curve of the dinner plate. (All the plates are stamped as being the Lausanne pattern.) This seems like a huge product flaw to me, but I like the simplicity of this style, and the warm white color, so much that I'm not troubled by the inconsistencies.
