Wonderful book in a Great series by Lauraine Snelling - Red River Valley series
Another of the continuing series of the Red River Valley books by Lauraine Snelling. I love this set of (approx) 18 books, and have now bought them all so I don't have to rely on the library having them on the shelves. I have read them many times over the last ten years and highly recommend them!

Sad tale with little resolution
The couple tried various means to have children (In Vitro Fertilization; adoption) but never did have children through any means. The story is a sad tale of their travels and trials and while we feel for them, it was not a book I would recommend.

Well written and drawn! Sensitive but practical!
1 of 1 found this helpful To quote a recent widow to whom I gave the book, "I forgot to tell you how much I liked the book! The drawings are wonderful! I think it's well suited to people whose grief isn't 'brand new' but have had time to live a bit of life post-loss. The allegory is sensitively developed."
I agree with her about waiting a little while (a few weeks?) before offering the book to the person. Helpful as the information is, they probably need time to process their loss on their own before being given a "how to" book, good as it is. It is far more than a "how to" book, for sure, but at the beginning the person is faced with physical details to take care of beyond the funeral - bank accounts, insurance stuff, and other things that must be done. Giving the person some space before giving them the book is a wise idea, in my estimation. But it definitely is a good resource for anyone dealing with people with any kind of major loss, whether you're just the friend who is helping, or the person going through it. Great Book!!
