Serenity Pellet Stove is a great product, very pleased!
2 of 2 found this helpful Purchased 2 units. One for the home and the other for the shop. Installed first serenity stove in 2 hours in the shop. Had a challenge getting the exhaust pipe to fit on the back of the stove. Noticed it was not the pellet stove but the exhaust pipe. It was slightly crimped. Took the pipe back and got a replacement. New pipe fit perfect and we were on our way. When we started the unit up there was a little smoke coming from the unit it seemed from the bottom of the unit. But once it got going it stopped. Not sure what caused the smoke. The unit is working perfect now! The shop is a full 1500 square feet with high roof. When the pellet stove started up the temperature in the shop read 45 degrees. By morning the temperature read 65 degrees. Please note it was 13 degrees outside that day and we just receives 6 inches of snow the previous day. The unit used 1 bag of low ash, softwood premium pellets in 15 hours to come up to temperature but is using much less to maintain the temperature in the shop. Previously we used propane which became to expensive later in to the cold winters in South Dakota.
The second unit was installed in a corner in the living room in 1 hour. Warmed up our home fast. Previously we used a wood burning stove to heat the home. The fire would go out during the night so you either had to get up and add more logs or the home would have a cold chill in the morning. Not to mention needing to feed the wood stove with logs all day. Nice being able to fill the hooper with wood pellets once a day or so and let it add material as needed. When we woke up it was 73 degrees in the house. We laughed and turned the serenity pellet stove down to 64 degrees. We laughed again, turn off our space heaters in our bedroom. Not only are we going to spend less money on wood each winter but we are going to save on our electric bill not running 1500 watt space heaters in the bedrooms and living room .
