Trim to fit is exactly what you need to do
Replacement for worn ladder feet one of which was nearly completelly worn down making the ladder unsafe to use in most cicumstances. Easy to cut to size and fit

Kerbside find made "good"
Made a kerbside found item fully useable after a little time and effort to clean and lubricate.Many woodworkers,myself included would not have considered having one of these planes in their tool kit.Replaceable throwaway blades - shock horror! However with a little perseverance, the depth of cut can be adjusted to achieve a reasonable shaving.

40+ year old cordless ( NiCd) drill/driver developed a fault that when depressing the switch trigger to its full travel the drill motor would cut out.Simple part to reinstall - two solder joints and the tool is fully functional again.
