Good traction and smooth ride on tarmac
These Landcruisers were to replace some excellent Marathon Plus on my hybrid bike. Now that I have a road bike, I have been using the hybrid for rough paths, gravel as well as on tarmac. The Marathons felt unyielding and twitchy on uneven & fragmented paths, and I wanted more grip with a smooth ride on tarmac. First outing today and the Landcruisers have proved a comfortable and smooth option with extra and reassuring grip. Pretty easy to fit (watch for the directional arrows) and don't make the mistake I did of ordering with tubes with Schrader rather than Presta valves!

The next best thing to clip-ins
1 of 1 found this helpful I've bought these for different bikes over the years. They are easy to fit and durable. I'm not a committed enough cyclist to go for clip-in pedals and cycling shoes. The zefal toe clips are the next best thing. They help with the uphills and you can wear normal shoes or trainers.

Olympus OM2 camera
This camera takes you back to the basics of SLR photography. It handles very well and has great retro looks. It is also a good deal lighter than the modern digital equivalent semi professional cameras (e.g. Canon 50D). Most prime lenses are available at relatively reasonable prices second hand at your local camera shop or on e-bay (but beware fungus on those lenses sold online where they are poorly described/photographed). A film camera may mean you are more likely to get prints rather than the picturs sitting on your hard drive. I have loved using the OM2 as an additional camera to my usual digital SLR.
