Small viewing screen
I bought a uniden bcd 536 and a whistler ws 1098 both brand new at the same time. I have no real experience with scanners and faced a monumental learning curve. The uniden has a viewing screen twice the size of the whistler. To copy a extra sd card.....no problem first try with uniden. The whistler EZ app is in some instances tuff for a first timer. The app was difficult to understand, and you will probably get error messages with the interface cable. They just say call whistler. Discouraging 10 min. in and your told to call the manufacturer. Beyond that the 1st copy sd card ( my luck huh?) would not work because whistler is a little finicky with card corruption. (new card and it was to corrupt for the unit. (Once again ERROR CODE call manufacture.) Ok Beyond all that I accidently unplugged it with while operating and the card corrupted a small amount and had like the wrong scan list on screen and started dropping frequencies. I accidently unplugged the uniden thinking it was the whistler and no problem. The uniden is hands down a better unit in scan mode also with just as good audio with both having external speakers if not better audio quality. To do again I would have 2 Uniden bcd 536's. Hope this review helps. Also the Uniden is a little larger and twice a heavy as the compact Whistler.
