Old-World Beauty ; Timeless Classic
You can't find music like this anymore, our Planet is too angry, and nobody is this brave & open-souled. I always wanted this record on CD, because of the many interwoven instruments and quiet subleties seemingly hidden in the music. Boy, what a difference; when you can hear EVERYTHING loud & clear. There's so much to appreciate here; Ant Phillips is skilled at coloring his musical portraits with EMOTIONS. There is joy; sport; revenge; frolic; and sadness so deep as to make you cry; in the song, "Now what are they doing to my Little Friends..?" --A vision of God's perspective of Man, killing his Animals pointlessly) The songs are all catchy and singable; with TASTY choruses, and poetic verses. And any musician, or music lover will be engulfed in the superb; quirky; & unique performances; and transported to an Alice-In-Wonderland; Day in the Forest-type of Fantasy Land. Similar to the early GENESIS Records of Yesteryear...one can appreciate how much INNOCENCE & BEAUTY was lost forever; after Ant left the Band in 1971. Sadly...even Anthony Phillips HIMSELF doesn't write these types of engrossing MeisterWorks anymore, nowadays...!
