Model lives up to Manfrotto's reputation
Great medium size tripod..... just heavy enough to be stable in most situations. Its a good balance of portability and stability with enough robustness to handle my Nikon pro DSLRs. I did replace the ball head with the 498RC2 to increase head stability to handle larger zooms. I am extremely happy with the setup and given the price, it can't be beat in my opinion. Every bit as good as stable as my heavier duty gitzo in practical terms at a fraction of the price with the bonus of increased portability. It is well made and feels like it can take some abuse.
Its the tripod I would recommend to my serious photography friends looking for a do it all general high quality tripod. Although portable, it is not the tripod if you need the ultimate light weight compact travel setup.

Performance performance router on the cheap
Bought this to replace my girlfriends old n300 Linksys mainly used to stream Netflix. The EA6900 is a last gen product but its still a pretty amazing wifi router. Performance far exceeded my expectations. It is extremely adept at handling heavy simultaneous data traffic (aggregate throughput) as well as wireless duties. It appears to be as fast if not faster than my older WRT1900AC which I thought was pretty spectacular. Wifi performance is good too with none of the stability issues some of the internet reviews have highlighted; Netflix streams/buffers almost instantly on the 5GHz band and never dropped a bit. If you are looking for a good performing wifi router and don't have tons of devices needing access; this is a great deal on the used market.
I have no reservations in recommending this to a friend/family looking for a cheap but still high performance router solution. I had it up and running in under 5 minutes with no issues and it even updated itself with the latest firmware. It does run hot but aside from that, it is fast, reliable, and stable.

A must own lens for X-system shooters
1 of 1 found this helpful This lens is truly a must own lens even if you don't shoot wide often. The lens is sharp and with little to no distortion which is truly amazing for an ultra wide angle lens. Comparing this to my Nikon 14mm f/2.8, the fuji is superior being sharper in the center and in the corners with lower distortion. The fact that its also a fraction of the cost is a bonus. Granted the Nikon is a full frame lens and has more to it (i.e. larger glass) having to cover a larger frame. This fuji remains sharp even wide open with a little softness in the corners but that is to be expected. For the price, this lens is simply amazing.
Its a flexible lens.... beyond wide coverage for landscapes, this lens provides the ability to shoot in close and tight situations. The minimum focus distance is ~5 inches to the lens which makes it that much more useful when composing. My 23mm f/1.4 was my favorite Fuji lens prior to getting this lens but I find myself shooting with the 14mm more often now. Yes I have to get a little closer to my subjects at times but the wider view allows me to grab a larger scope of shoots.
Cons: a little loud to focus compared with newer lenses.
Wish: it was a little smaller to match the compact form factor of the fuji cameras.
A must own lens in my humble opinion.
