Success drip by drip
Is it possible for a coffee filter to be incompetent? This product is exactly what you'd expect from a coffee filter: it fits the machine ideally, doesn't tear or come apart and the final product is free of coffee grounds and any kind of after taste.

Worthy product when used with a strategy.
I purchased this item to make iced-coffee. The process requires a bit of care. The coffee needs to be coarse-ground and not packed in overly tight, as it were. In this way, the water makes its way to the drip hole. If the coffee is fine and well-packed, the water overwhelms the coffee basket and the cup within which it sits. Then most of your iced-coffee winds up as a puddle upon your kitchen counter and not in the container. Best to use no more than 8-9 tablespoons of coffee. Any more than that, and your counter top will be enjoying more of the iced-coffee than you will be.
The overall design is fairly clever. However, I don't get the concept of a coffee basket with a permanent filter bottom that has no place to drain to. The basket sits in a cup which has no drain. Therefore, the liquid is required to overflow the cup, drain down its sides, pool beneath it and make its way out the hole at the bottom to stream into the container. If the valve hole gets clogged, which it will if the basket is overwhelmed by the water and the grains spill over, get beneath the cup and fill the hole. Then comes the flood.
Mind the machine while it is working and, perhaps, place it in a suitable pan, just in case. That said, the end product is a good pot of iced-coffee. Worth the money once the machine is taught to behave properly.

Accurate and easy to use.
Valuable do-it-yourself item to have in the home. I find the readings are consistent and I assume accurate. The item is easy to use, easy to read.
