Great notebook for the money
1 of 1 found this helpful First off, read datasavers review of what these little work horses have to offer. I bought my first one as a "off lease" 4 years ago for travel and it quickly became my main daily computer. I loved it right up until the mother board crapped a couple months ago.
That being said, I got more than my money's worth out of it, at about 60 bucks a year including accessories.
Since HP's web site has an excellent service manual, with step by step repair instructions, I went looking for the new board. I found a freshly loaded new one for little more than the replacement part and I'm now the proud owner of my second NC6000!
These things are surprisingly nimble and capable, easily running circles around my wife's Accer Aspire One netbook. I have recommended them to my friends at the current prices. Money well spent.
The dvd drive is in a hot swappable Multi-Bay, which can be used for a second hard drive or battery, even a floppy drive. New pata/ata-6 hard drives are still available at Newegg.com.

Still a fun ride
It's a fun ride, but with this star power, it could've been better. Has some funny moments, but there could've been more. Not on the level of Independence Day, but worthwhile. Video and sound are very good on Blu-ray! I rented it first and was on the fence about buying. For the price it's at now it's worth adding to your collection.
