It's A Splitter!
I bought two sub-compact speakers and I use the splitter to define Right and Left speakers. It works!

I'm Not A Racist
That is my title to this review and I'm sticking to it! I received the speaker much earlier than expected. I removed it from the box, plugged it into a wall charger (not supplied) for 2 hours. After charging, I paired the speaker with my Smartphone. I was dumbfounded when I heard a voice coming from the speaker "the brootooth dewise is ready to pal". "What the heck was that" I said to myself. I turned the speaker off and on again so I could hear it again. When I paired the speaker, that voice came on saying "the brootooth dewise is connected ah-successfully". Now, that was entertaining! Now, let's see about the auxiliary input. Upon plugging a cord into the speaker the voice came on and said "AOUX input Moda" Not auxiliary input mode. You don't believe me? Buy one! Just the voice alone is entertainment at its finest.
My first one stopped working and had to send it back (Chicago). I did like the sound clarity of the speaker. It also appears to by a style-hybrid between Art-Deco and 70's design. It looks as good as it sounds. Well worth $10.00 each.
