Edgerouter X - Still a Great Buy!
Even though the original Ubiquity Edgerouter X is the smallest and lowest class of router that Ubiquity sells, the features and quality make this router a 'steal' for the SOHO (small office - home office) administrator. It is small, powerful, vlan-capable, has an excellent firewall, and just simply performs!
This router is also of a higher quality in materials and workmanship than most others of even a higher class.
I highly recommend the Edgerouter X, especially at this $50 - $60 price point. It may be a few years old, but it's still very viable - and will be for many years to come.
Oh! Did I mention that it's a cute little thing too?

Old Gear - New Usage [Linksys WRT54G 2.4GHz Router]
Obviously, for today's normal, high speed internet connections, this old workhorse has seen its day. For me, however, it's a device that finds a new purpose!
Flash some proprietary amateur radio firmware - and VOILA! - this router becomes a mesh node for across town and beyond...
Well worth buying!
