2nd great album. These guys are no fluke!!
0 of 1 found this helpful The Killers have matured in their songwriting and Sam's Town was an important album to usher-out 2006. And they've proven to me they can make it past the first album with their dignity still in place. Great album!! Get it!!

Cool little device!
1 of 1 found this helpful I installed the Goldo (really Kluson) Backbox in my SBMM Petrucci guitar (JP100D) with a vintage-style trem. The felt tip popped off in my hand while testing the spring. I didn't bother trying to glue it it back as it seemed too springy or bouncy anyway. I use small (approx. 1/4" diameter) felt pads from a home imrovement store, cut them thin with a razor and apply the adhesive side to the trem block. My backbox has a bit of a lateral offset built into it. I don't know if that is a deliberate design feature or a defect. Meaning the base was installed perpendicular to the trem block but, the threaded rod was still slighty off from 90 degrees. You may have to play with the angle of the surface the base is mounted to bc when I screwed it down to the wood, the pin was grinding against the base when I would pull up on the whammy bar. I slathered grease on the pin and that helped. You don't have to disassemble the device to get the mounting screws in; just spin back the spring tension nut. (which was screwed pretty tight to the pin when I got it) Try to always use your fingers to spin the spring nut or stop nut, not hand tools. I did put Loctite on the threads of the rod under the Stop Nut to ENSURE that thing doesn't drift. If it does, the bridge will come back to rest in a different postion and will be out of tune. I followed the installation suggestion pic on the manual (which is in German btw, good luck) and intalled the backbox in the center with two trem springs on an angle on either side of the backbox. Works fine that way. I see people talking about installing TWO backboxes to fight the spring tension. I didn't find that to be necessary at all and I would think it would be difficult to place two backboxes so that the trem block would touch BOTH pins at the same EXACT time. Just remove the 3rd spring, whammy arm moves easier anyway. Guitar can now do double-stop bends, Drop D tuning and pull-ups. Keep in mind, pull-ups have a tight feel (because it's fighting the backbox spring) and that wobble-flutter trick that unhindered floating trems can do is gone but, I'm not Steve Vai so I don't care about that stuff! lol (never felt the need to anyway). Previously, I was always just blocking my Floyd/Vintage trems for down-pitch only but, now the backbox gives me the option to be able to pull-up on the bar. Was only able to find it outside of the States. Check it out!!
