    Buyer Beware???
I read a lot of comments about how one felt they were cheated because of a supposed graded coin. I only want to speak in behalf of the sellers for a moment. If you are serious about wanting to ensure you get the grade of coin you desire, then buy only NGC or PCGS graded coins. You will pay a premium for them. But you will have the peace of mind you desire. To take the word of a seller as to the grade is a kin to buying a pig in a poke. You have no idea what you are getting. Most of the sellers are not professional graders, they may sell lots of coins, but they are not graders. And there are hundreds of fly by night grading companies that will slap a plastic case on a coin for a fee and say what the person likes. So when buying a graded coin other than the two reputable graders, I bid spot for the coin or due a small premium for some hard to get coins. But my main defense is myself. I look at the pictures. I enlarge the pictures and enhance them if I am interested. My biggest concern is checking with the seller to ensure the coin pictured is the one I am buying. I have had a few that show an example and then sent another coin. This is not a good practice, but the buyer has control as to whether they buy or pass. Now as for my coin, I didn't need an BU coin for my collection. A lower to mid-level AU coin would suffice. My 1928 wasn't BU, so my set was already only of AU quality. I just wanted good details to be present--the feathers and the hair. But a little wear was okay on the more expensive coins. So today I have a complete set of Peace Dollars that didn't break the bank and look sharp. I am more than pleased with my purchase. And now I am off to another adventure and collecting various VAM Peace Dollars. The search never ends and the game is on.

I am looking for another one...
I bought this camera to be my camera so I could join my wife's in her passion. However, that is not what has happened. She has fallen in love with my camera and now she has two. This is a wonderful camera. It's features are far above my understanding or capabilities. But it is simple enough that even a Neanderthal, like myself, can take great pictures. I would buy this camera again--especially if I can get it for the same price.

    Investment or Beauty
Funny eBay should ask for a review of the American Silver Eagle, but I will oblige them. Given the direction of our economy, or should I say the propensity of our congress to spend recklessly, precious metals seem to be one sure bet. Combine that with the enormous amount of corruption seen every day with the investment community, I feel better owning my own piece of the rock. And 99.99% pure silver is a good piece. So I guess part of my reason for buying would have to be the future. But the real reason I chose the American Eagle is its sheer beauty. I love the design. Taking from history, it takes me back to day when America was America. The rising sun gives me hope for our future. So I have been collecting the Silver Eagle for years. And I share the love for our coins with the Scouts and my family. The investment aspect has been a bonus. Today I sit with gold and silver coins that are worth far more today than I ever paid for them. Yet I see only the simple beauty and workmanship of each coin. And every coin, through collecting over the years, has a story. So when I get old and can collect no more, I will have stories to tell myself and my benefactors will have silver and gold they can sell. So I guess it is both. And eBay, given the remote location where I live, has given me the opportunity to buy from a much larger market. And for 99% of the purchases, I have met some of best folks this country has to offer. This avenue provides a great wealth of learning and appreciation for our past. I don't know if this helps anyone decide to purchase an American Silver Eagle or not. But I hope to inspire just one more youth to look at our monies in a different light than what it can purchase.
