Great film with misleading packaging.
1 of 1 found this helpful Leviathan is one of my all time favorites. The slow burn character development, superb acting, sheer star power, and sweet creature effects put it on top of the underwater creature features list.
The reason I gave 2 stars for this particular product is the packaging touts a booklet with trivia and production notes as included. It isn’t.
This DVD is still a great alternative to the $70+ Bluray release. What’s up with that?!

Gojira Returns
I remember hating this film as a kid. It wasn’t until I was 40 that I actually watched the movie as it was intended to be. When I was little, the only version of it I had my hands on was the 1985 chopped-up, Americanized version with snippets of Raymond Burr slipped in here and there. The Japanese version is much darker and more resembles the original Gojira in style, scope, and pace. I love it. It has a heavy hitting antinuclear message that’s as important as the film is engaging. I recommend watching with the Japanese audio and English subtitles.
My only complaints would be that (1) it’s a reboot of the franchise, ignoring all previous entries in the series save for the original. I’m not a huge fan of that. (2) The audio/visual quality of the DVD, though far superior to the VHS I watched as a kid, simply cannot compete with the a/v quality of the BluRay edition. Either is worth the buy though, because this definitely is in the top 5 Godzilla movies of all time!

1 of 3 found this helpful The description says these are in the original language with English subtitles. I figured that meant there were no English dubs, I was right. That’s fine for me, but hard on my 2 year old Kaiju fan.
Good buy, but know there are no English dubs.
