EF compatible zoom lens for Canon EOS Rebel XT camera

I bought my EF 75-300mm Zoom lens just before I went on a trip to Alaska. I was close to my departure date when I bought the lens on eBay and very happy the lens arrived a few days before I left for the trip. Once in Alaska I had immediate opportunity to put the lens to work. I took over 500 pictures in one week, about half of them with the telephoto lens. I was surprise at how well the lens handled at 300mm. I caught eagles in flight and other distant images with good focus and resolution. The combination of the Canon Rebel XT and the telephoto produced clear close-up pictures of whales, sea lions, seals and other wildlife. The zoom mechanism worked flawlessly as did the EF autofocus in conjunction with the camera. When needed the manual focus is very easy to operate. The trip offered many quick reaction photo opportunities and the lens in conjunction with the camera did not fail me. And the lens’ compact size makes it easy to include in my 5X7X9 camera bag with my Canon 18-55mm EF lens and my camera. The beauty of the Canon EF Lens system is that the lenses are truly compatible across the Canon EOS line. I have a Canon Rebel film camera. All the features of the EF 75-300mm work perfectly on that camera as well. I considered other 75-300 zoom lenses that were reportedly compatible with Canon EOS cameras, but after the results I experienced during my week in Alaska, I am convinced that I could not have done better than the Canon EF 75-300mm Zoom Lens.
