Replaced ATX ASUS board in generic case with this one, surprisingly, IT WORKS!
8 of 8 found this helpful Well, got this one by mistake--my old ASUS ATX board died. This has ATX power; however, front panel and ALL fan headers are DELL proprietary ones. 1st reaction--sent damn thing back. On the 2nd thought, decided to give it a try. Surprisingly, this is doable.
If you are in the same boat, try the following:
GOOGLE "Dell fan pinout"
Search e-bay for "Dell Optiplex 990 front panel"
Search e-bay for "Dell Optiplex 990 temperature sensor"
Total cost is $16+$5+$5 is still much cheaper than $70 ATX mobo for my i5 LGA 1155--cheapest more-or-lees reliable alternative ;-)

Both box and contents are heavily damaged
Not only the box, but the cartridge itself was damaged beyond repair. 3 stars since I was able to salvage most of the toner--just transferred the powder to empty old functional cartridge. "New" description is incorrect in this case; "Not working for parts only" would be more accurate.

Everything as expected.
Just like new razor--quiet, close shave
