With longevity issues and a strong alcoholic presence, this is far from the Teakwood of old.
I purchased probably 5-10 Mahogany Teakwood candles over the years. I would buy the air fresheners carrying the same scent just to capture that manly, sophisticated fragrance wherever I went. I adored this scent. What has happened here is somewhat of a 2nd cousin twice removed of the original. There are some small similarities in it's character, but there is a saturation of creaminess not present in the original.
Sad, as the former was smooth enough. For whatever reason they changed the formula for the cologne, and what we get is an alcohol heavy fragrance that has some passing similarity, but that's about it, and the scent in full dissipates rather quickly.
Serious longevity issues here, cannot recommend to anyone unless you were a fan such as I was. Maybe an hour on skin at best, 2 hours on clothes if you are lucky.

Armaf's Tres Nuit - a little synthetic but smooth & easy to pull off.
3 of 3 found this helpful I actually purchased this as a Christmas gift for my father in law, but could not resist giving it a wearing on my skin. I was actually blown away.
My father's signature scent was Halston Z14, no doubt an old school classic known for it's vetiver which is dryer than my wife's sense of humor. I tried to get him on Cool Water back in the day and like all aquatic scents he was uninterested - but I've always heard people comparing Cool Water and Tres Nuit/Green Irish Tweed, so that is the scent DNA I was expecting. None of that here.
Tres Nuit is a grown man fragrance but not in that Polo Green type of way. It is mass appealing, undaring but refuses to be sweet like other trendy fragrances being worn by today's youth. I think most will like it, I sure did - but don't expect to smell freshly cut grass or any of that other Green Irish Tweed marketing jargon. Don't expect it to smell super unique.
But you can expect it to smell pretty dang good.

This dark scent doesn't shout, but seduces from afar.
Fragrance enthusiasts echo their opinion on GG Intense - generic and boring, they say. Perhaps my nose is different, but despite a large collection of frags I always come to this one. Some of my most remembered comments were from wearings of Dior Sauvage, Invictus, high quality clones of Aventis Creed and, you guessed it, Gucci Guilty Intense.
Where Prada L'homme has a very soapy and clean character, Sauvage is the king of fresh & Bentley Intense presents itself as high class (albeit boozy) sophistication, GG Intense comes across straight sexual and smooth to me. Female colleagues at a wide range of jobs I've had in the past all make comments that I can't help but smile at. These are non fiction quotes, I promise you:
"Wow! You Smell like a MAN!"
"Boy you smell so good I could eat you, what is that? Gucci? I want some of you, Mr. Gucci!"
"Who smells so fine? I keep getting whiffs of it and I'm tired of chasing you."
The longevity isn't great, neither is the projection, but with a scent like GG Intense that works in your favor. When you walk around a room silage is actually quite present and bold. Women will follow your trail around, trust me.
Is it a bit dated in 2019? Yes, many of my college friends would wear this at parties, it is a constant memory through association for me and probably many others as well who are 30-36 years old.
Is it mass appealing? Yes, no niche here whatsoever. But don't let that deter you, young slayer of the night. Own it, walk with your head up and ooze confidence because you are wearing a compliment kingpin. Not recommended for men who stand in the corner at clubs/dances.
