Bilstein makes great shocks
I've purchased these 5100 series shocks for other vehicles in the past and always loved them. They offer good control, handle well on the street and are great for towing and for off-road. The only problem I've ever had with the 5100 series shocks is corrosion of the brushed nickel finish which is purely cosmetic. For this installation, I decided to clear coat the shocks prior to installation. I carefully removed the stickers and boots, cleaned the shock body and painted them with clear gloss wheel paint. After the paint cured, I replaced the stickers and boots and installed them on the truck. The stock shocks weren't worn out yet but the truck bounces less and settles down quicker after a big bump with the new shocks.
