Good bobber

High priced bait that doesn't work at one of the best times of the year to catch channel cats.

One of the best times of year to catch large numbers of eating size cats( 1 1/2 # to 10#) is in the fall on flatland reservoirs when the water temperatures are 45 to 60 degrees. Fast fishing and catches average 20-40 per person in a 4-5 hour trip when you know how and where to fish. Best bait is fresh cut shad but thought I'd try this bait because shad start getting harder to find as the water cools. This bait doesn't stay on the hook or on bait holders worth a darn and the cats won't eat it when the water temperature is 53-55 degrees. After trying on prime spots and never getting even a nibble, left the fishing area and went to find shad. Cast a net for a couple hours and caught 25 small ones(shad), but it was enough bait to catch 19 keeper cats out of the same spots where we couldn't get a nibble with this prepared bait. Quit at sundown but we spent most of the half day trip getting bait. Lots of hype and maybe it will work during warm weather but it is worthless for the fall fishing we do.
