A very good compilation!
This is part of Deustche Grammophon "Panorama" Series and coming from the masters of Classical recording, you just can't go wrong. I highly recommend it if you love George Gershwin's work; it's really remarkable.
It's a very good compilation of George Gershwin's major works;
with renowned artists such as Leonard Bernstein, Seizi Osawa, André Previn, James Levine, Gill Shaham (violin) and more, you get to take a tour of the versatility of this great composer;
from bluesy 'Rhapsody in Blue' as well as 'Porgy and Bess' to more classical 'Concerto in F' and '3 Preludes' as well as very jazzed up vesions of showtunes in '5 song Arrangements' (A Foggy Day, Embraceable You, Someone to Watch Over Me, Oh, Lady Be Good and The Man I Love) to name just a few. Quite a list that are available on this unique 2 CD set.
