battery back-up is an issue
1 of 3 found this helpful the whole benefit to a plug-in detector is long-term reliability 9assuming that power doesn't go out!). with the battery back-up, when the battery begins to fail, then a chirp is emitted, even though there is no problem with the availability of power. I also own other brands of plug in units that continue to function as long as there is electrical power, regardless of the life of the battery. as such, I would NOT recommend this unit because it requires attention when the battery begins to run down.
