1 Great Christmas Family Movie - 1 very well done Christmas Family Sequel
Of course, the first one is the best -- with a dying "father" played by Ed Asner getting back with his children with the help of his "estranged wife" played by Maureen Stapleton - and the children not knowing it is their father's last Christmas with them and the last chance they will ever get the opportunity to work out their differences - but it is well done and not schmaltzy. Of course, when you make one good movie, make the sequel!
Now as a widow - Maureen Stapleton has started a new life - and a new man enters in - and has to convince her children that he really cares about their mother. The second one is good - but nothing can top the first movie - which is so real with emotions and great character development.
If you can get these 2 together, that is great - but if all you can find is The Gathering - don't miss it! You won't be sorry you saw it. It is truly about reconciliation in an adult dysfunctional family -- and who doesn't understand that!

Great Movie -- DVD in great condition
