Packaged well and in really good condition, shipping took a lot longer than expected but not through any fault of the seller, USPS is just a pain. Excited to use it ! Seller was helpful in describing how to take care of and use it, overall would buy through them again.

Lens exactly as described, packaged in original box. Arrived quickly and well-packaged. Great seller
I've read that the Kiev 88 is an unwieldy camera, and it is. The ergonomics are practically nonexistent and it weighs a ton! BUT, it is worth it.
The images produced are of astounding quality, regardless of the difficulty getting them. After researching and reading as much as I could about these, there are some "golden rules" to using a Kiev. Always advance the shutter after taking a shot, change shutter speed clockwise (direction of shutter advance), and never change shutter speed if it's not cocked, etc.. These are good habits to get into, as failing to can wreck your camera. The thing is a beast. All metal, no electronics, no meter no nothing! It's slow to get the shot. You have to think, really get into it, connect with your camera and your subject. Totally worth it.
I wont claim to be an expert by any means, but I can say this camera will help take you to the next level of photography (if you're just getting into medium format). It's a great camera to relearn your process for taking photographs, and the results are stunning. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a great looking, heavy hitting, hard to manage, but very tamable beast. The results are worth carrying around the weight.

Works great
I keep my moped locked up in a decently busy neighborhood. This lock feels very sturdy and secure for that. Would recommend

An absolute dream for street photography!
Absolutely great! Quality soviet build! It has a surprisingly nice weight to it for a camera that looks almost entirely plastic. A blast to shoot with. Great for street photography, but also great for just carrying in your back pocket and snapping shots as they unfold. The zone focusing is simple and fun. the auto mode is totally acceptable for negative film, but may be a *bit* too hot for E-6 slides. That's okay, I'm sure the more I use it the batteries will drain and the exposure will correct itself (laughs). I'm having a great time shooting it. The lens is gorgeous and dreamy. Wide enough to capture a great scene and not worry too much about composition when you're out in the moment.
I actually slipped and fell HARD on this in my back pocket, I though for sure I'd broken something, especially the lens. But, the quality is great and it's just fine. Not exactly weatherproof, but I'm not one to shoot in the rain or snow...
Definitely a great camera for anyone, beginner or experienced. So much fun. Sometimes it's best to just set and forget. This is the camera to do it. You'll fall in love with this camera, from the look, to the feel, to the ease of shooting and the results! Highly recommended!
