A Home with messages in every room
I had read the book in one sitting and immediately thought that it should be made into a film. Surprise! Shortly after I read it, the movie was released. Hooray! Unfortuntaley, as is the case with most great films, trying to find a theater showing it in my area turned out to be futile. You know how it is, if a movie isn't going to make $40 million in the first weekend from a bunch of 16 year olds with the intellect of turnips nobody can be bothered actually showing it. So then it's wait, wait, wait until the DVD releases. But I digress. "A Home at the End of the World" was well worth the long wait. It has a wonderful message of hope in tragedy, fun in sadness and commitment to others even if they aren't perfection. It's an entangled adventure through the lives of several different charcters who are just humanly flawed and know it. I could go on and on with examples but it wouldn't do it any justice. Please buy this movie and enjoy it for what it is. A beautifully acted, written and directed film with subtle messages which aren't forced. I loved it.

    By this!
One of the best live concert DVD's I've ever seen. As you watch and listen, you'll realize that your jaw is on the floor and you'll be asking yourself, "Three guys, REALLY?" The quality of recording both audio and visual is astounding. Why isn't Rush in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? I mean seriously. Their newest music is even better than their old familiar classics, and yet they still seem to be having lots of fun on stage without posing or taking themselves too seriously. Buy this DVD! You will not be disappointed.

    Drood is the Dude!
Even though it is nearly 800 pages long, "Drood" by Dan Simmons is so cleverly written, plotted and executed it will keep you on edge through every chapter. In these tough economic times it's good to have so much entertainment for the same cost as most other 200 page bores that publishers are cranking out daily. This historical novel is a dark delight filled with harrowing train wrecks, strange characters, opium dens, insanity and murders throughout. Most unusual is all of this is being told from the perspective of the Victorian writer, laudanum addicted "friend" of the self-proclaimed Inimitable Charles Dickens, Mr. Wilkie Collins. With a friend like this you'll never need another enemy. I loved it. Dan Simmons has outdone himself here. While all of his multiple award winning novels are fantastic no matter what genre he may be writing in at the time, this one stands out. Please, please, please Mr. Simmons. I beg you to keep them coming!
