Core2 Quad Q6700 gives Dell 390 new lease of life.
2 of 2 found this helpful I have an 11 year old Dell Precision 390 Workstation which had a Core2 Duo Processor.
The quad Q6700 fits straight in to the 975X motherboard and I am using the standard Dell cooler.
I am not a gamer so no heat problems. I used Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste.
The Core2 Quad Q6700 has given my PC a new lease of life with some tasks, particularly
photographic programs, exporting files much faster and general operation snappier.
Overall very pleased.
