You do need some hand strength
1 of 1 found this helpful Because I wanted to ride more on trails, I wanted to be able to transport my bike. After getting a hitch on my vehicle, I researched different bike racks. I did not want one that would mount on the trunk--these all have bad reviews, and will hurt the paint. I did want something that would be easy to put on/take off, and sturdy and stable enough for transport of my bike, plus another.
There was some minimal assembly prior to hooking onto the hitch. The other connections were a little tough, as I have less hand strength at my age. I did notice a few of the bolts got easier with more use. Overall, I would like the rack to shake a bit less. The little turn key at the bottom loosens too easily.
I'm going to spray a little WD-40 on the rack to hitch connection, so it isn't so tough for dislodging when not in use, but overall, I would say for the money, this is a good quality bike rack.
