The Golden Books Treasury of Elves and Fairies
I owned this book when I was a child (60's), and it was my favorite! I saved it for my children, and they adored it, as well. The illustrations are like no others- absolutely endearing and so detailed. The stories are original and imaginative, and the poems are wonderful and easily remembered by children. I remember having these stories read to me over and over and listening as if it was the first time I was hearing them! I still have the copy of this book I received as a child, and I plan to read it to my grandchildren one day. I know they will enjoy it as much as I did (and still do!). Whenever I want to take a trip back to my childhood, I open this book, and I am right back there, remembering each picture and story as vividly as I did then.
