The protection cover isn't the right size for mounting the radio.
0 of 1 found this helpful Started installing my radio on 18 July. I was replacing an old radio that had quit working which also had weather protection cover. So all the mounting holes lined up and I installed protection cover. Then I attempted to install the radio and metal mounting sleeve. This where things went wrong the radio wouldn't slide into the protection cover slot. When I tried to install the radio instead of going into the slot the radio slid through the metal mounting sleeve and knocked the cover off the radio. When the radio slipped through it also caused the the protection lid to pop up and broke the plastic on the hinges. I end up removing protection cover base and spent the next 20 minutes trying to get the metal mounting sleeve to go into the protection slot. I had to twist, bend and push on the metal sleeve to finally getting into the slot. I don't know if I got a bad protection cover but if you are selling these items as a package I would assume these items would fit together with no issues. Now my radio is finally installed but the protection cover is broken before even getting a chance to use it. Someone needs to verify these parts go together. Bought this as package because I was under impression these parts worked together. They don't.
