Beautiful music, sensitive singing; emotional, wonderful!
Dougie MacLean is a bard in the truest sense of the word! His compositions are poetry, music is lovely...both guitar and fiddle tunes. And his versions of old traditional Scottish songs are sensitive and beautiful! His voice is sensitive; all the emotions coming through clearly. Great songs on this album!

An excellent series, beginning to end. Now I have all the seasons. Characters and stories excellent, never boring. BEautiful scenes outdoors... because of the location. Love it.

perfect for this collection of poems
I highly recommend The Charge of the Goddess, the lovely small book of Doreen Valiente's poetry, to any Pagan and/or Witch who feels the soul of Nature in their own heart, and knows the Old Gods are real. Some poems in this book brought tears to my eyes (of the good kind) because Doreen paints such vivid pictures with her words. Many poems or parts of poems are powerful invocations indeed.
Here and there, in one poem especially, there's a little humor. Most of the sentiments are of a serious nature. Love, hope, sorrow, longing, gratitude, passion, remembrance...so many things. Human emotions, acknowledgement of our mortality, yet ever and throughout one reads her trust in the return of the soul (reincarnation) for yet another round of life on the great Wheel. And faith that when love is strong, we will be reborn in the same time and place again with those we have known and loved before. This I have always felt to be so!
This book is a passionate treasure! When I read certain poems aloud the tears came. I felt her words. Doreen Valiente's book A B C of Witchcraft was one of the first books I came across, and purchased, in 1974, that assured me I could and should call myself Pagan. And later, Witch. Now it is the Summer of the year 2019 and I discover The Charge of the Goddess, the collection gathered together and published after this special priestess left this life. I am so thankful to those who made this book available. I am so thankful to Doreen, wise, dedicated and passionate Witch, who loved the Old Gods. Who understood, and was able to communicate the Sacred to us. Blessed be.
