A fast and friendly hair dryer
I needed a new hair dryer that would be kind to my fine and frizzy hair, so I started looking for a dryer with far infrared heat technology. Although speed was not a concern to me, I chose the Rusk Speed Freak Hair Dryer. Appropriately named, this dryer actually does dry my hair faster than any of my previous hair dryers. My hair is also softer and less frizzy after using the Rusk Speed Freak Hair Dryer. Because the cool shot button is so easy to press and hold, I can actually use it; unlike the cool shot button on my previous hair dryers. This dryer is rather heavy. That might have been a problem for me if the dryer didn't do such a fast job of getting my hair dry. I do like the dial-style of the heat and speed buttons; and I like the wide range of choices they offer me. I gave this dryer all the stars I could because it does the job fast while being friendly to my hair, plus it's sharp looking.

a more confident dog with thundershirt
Our 9-month old Yorkshire Terrie has isolation anxiety. Sophie gets panicky when one of her people leaves the house or if she is left in a room even though she can see her person (as she can when she is on the other side of the baby gate for a few minutes. Her panic symptoms include whining, loud crying, and mad pacing. The plan was to let her wear the Thundershirt at random times for random lengths of times before a "don't leave me" situation ever arose; but she met with one of those on her first day with her new t-shirt. With her t-shirt on for the second time time that day, she watched my husband leave the house, an event that would normally cause her to panic for upward of 30 minutes before she could begin to enjoy life again. This time, she watched out the door window, turned to play with our other dog, and never made a peep. On the same day, I tried the baby gate test and found her to be quiet though watchful. Over two weeks we have continued to put her t-shirt on randomly and even when we know a panicky situation is coming for her in the next hour. What I find is that Sophie seems much less fearful of being left and of being by herself in another room. Even without her t-shirt on she will now come find me and then scamper off into another room. She can handle being on the other side of the baby gate even if she can't see me for a minute. I guess the t-shirt calmed her enough to give her a chance to realize that she's okay, her people are not leaving her sight forever, she's not really all alone. Introduction to the shirt was very careful. She got to sniff it, eat treats off of it, and then got praises and treats as it was gradually moved from touching her to sitting on her to attached to her. The first time on she wore it for about 5 minutes. Hours later we put it on again and left it for an hour. When she wears it, we make sure good things happen like playtime with the other dog, massages, treats, meals, and walks in the yard. Our next test will be the very scary car ride. With a gradual reintroduction to the car while wearing her t-shirt, we hope she'll be a quieter dog for the duration of the ride. I'm glad this product is washable and easy to put on the dog. It feels very soft and well crafted.
