2 Signet Regency's
Enjoyed both of these regency novels. Judith Harkness had a different style of writing , almost a 3rd person view. However it gives a good background to her characters and her use of the language for the time is good. Wonderful story lines and descriptions of the times, dress and locations. An enjoyable read. These are earlier novels from the 80's too. The early signet's have the most accurate artistic cover pictures ; just sorry there is no way to know who the artist was. I originally have read most of the Georgette Heyer Regency in the 1970's and have begun to read them and these others just this last year. Always an enjoyable light read on a gray day. thanks for reading.
Duchess of Vidal by Dawn Lindsey

early Dawn Lindsey regency
I really enjoyed this regency novel. Character setup, their interactions, the plot and story line had me on the edge of the sofa for days ! Loved the descriptions of the main character Dominique , too pretty and proud to become a governess and the stranger at the Inn where she encountered him, darkly handsome and mysterious. Well and from there it just got better and better. Just like Georgette Heyer's early novel The Black Moth both men are Duc's of the Realm and naturally have terrible reputations as rakes, so on and so forth. These two titles I have listed are the very best 2 Regency romances of all time. Surprising The Duchess of Vidal was published in 1978 by Playboy publishing and has the worst cover art I have ever seen. To bad it has never been published later by Signet with a more appropriate cover design. So please purchase, brew a cup of tea and enjoy on a rainy day. I sure did. Tallyho !
