About
After being a buyer for many years, in October 2008 I started selling items for the United Church of Hayward. I started to clear out some of my closets by selling items for myself in January 2009.

Good large digital picture frame
3 of 3 found this helpful This is my first venture into the digital picture frame experience; I bought it used so got a good deal (they tend to be very pricey). The manuals were not very useful, but after some trial and error experimenting I figured out how to upload photos from a USB drive. The remote battery was dead but worked after getting a new one. You can't operate the picture frame without a remote, so if the remote goes out you'll have to try to find a new one (unless there's another way that I don't know about yet!). Maybe all these digital frames are like that; which to me is a bad design, but that seems to be the way most things with remote controls are going now. I wanted a large frame so my mother-in-law could see the pictures, since she is visually impaired. It has a lot of other features that I haven't used, like music and wi-fi. I went with the Kodak brand because of good reviews I have read from various sites. So far, so good!

Latest novel of 44 Scotland Street series
Alexander McCall Smith has become well known for his Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency novels, but he also writes about Edinburgh, Scotland. This book is the latest in his 44 Scotland Street series. There are several characters who either live in an apartment building on Scotland Street or nearby, including a 6-year-old precocious boy named Bertie. His characters are not involved with scandals, murder or anything really shocking, but he manages to pull you into their daily lives so you want to keep on reading.
I would recommend this book, and his other 44 Scotland Street books, to people who love Edinburgh, Scotland, and like to read books that are not filled with blood and gore and foul language.
