It really works.
0 of 1 found this helpful I already had a very similar circulator pump to what is normally included in the kit, so I didn't need to buy that part. We have an old house with plumbing running under a slab and getting hot water to the kitchen faucet could take a minute and a half, and then it it would cool off in the slab again very quickly if it wasn't used for 5 minutes. This caused a problem with the dishwasher because it was like filling the DW with cold water instead of hot. This kit, along with the pump I already had, fixed the problem. You need decent home owner plumbing skills to install the pump, so if you've never touched your plumbing before, have a backup plan in case you get stuck in the middle of the install.

Works fine, but there are issues.
1 of 1 found this helpful First, the good part. Functionally, it works great and is super easy to clean, plus you can put it in the dishwasher. You can put peeled or unpeeled garlic in there and it does both, but with unpeeled, there is a lot of waste. Everything that gets stuck in the press pulls right out with your fingers, no trouble at all. Then it goes right in the dishwasher.
Now, to the problems. I almost NEVER complain about a product, usually taking the approach that you get what you pay for. But this was not a cheap garlic press. Out of the box, there were numerous edges that I thought were too sharp for most people. I have calloused hands from work, and if I thought they were sharp, they were sharp. I lightly filed and sanded the sharp edges down and all was great after that, easy and safe to use. But after about 6 months of use, one of the little riveted pivot pins in it broke, making it unusable. I could have sent it back but ended up fixing it myself. If I had paid $5 for this I would have been ok with it breaking after 6 months, but this was a lot more than $5.

ST01C astronomic timer is VERY versatile. Can even be used with battery systems.
This is a great timer. It runs totally on its own internal battery. It does NOT need to be hooked up to a neutral white wire. It will work in a regular house wiring system AND it will also work in an outdoor low voltage or battery operated (12vdc or other) system. It is an astronomic timer so instead of just setting it to turn on at 6 in the evening and off at 6 in the morning, you can set it to turn on at your actual sunset time and off at your sunrise time. It tracks your local "solar" time. Or you can set it to turn on at sunset and off at midnight. Whatever you want. Very versatile.
Because it runs on its own internal battery, power failures are not an issue. It keeps time and saves the program. For a battery operated system, like a chicken house door run off of a lawn mower battery and a solar charger, it will function like a regular switch to turn the 12v power on and off at the time or "solar time" that you want. When hooked up to a house circuit, it will function as a 3-way switch, but when hooked up to a 12v system, the 3 way function doesn't seem to operate, or at least I couldn't get it to work.
The astronomic time feature is cool, and it will track (internally) sunrise and sunset throughout the year, but you only have a choice of south, central, or northern states, so the tracking won't be perfect, but it will be within 5 or 10 minutes throughout the year. If you want to offset from actual sunrise or sunset, you can put in your region (south for example) and then you can put in a "corrected" sunrise or sunset time. For example, if you wanted the chicken door to close 20 minutes after sunset and your local sunset was 6:00PM, you would just say during the programming process that your local sunset was 6:20PM and it would keep that 20 minute offset throughout the year. Programming is straightforward if you follow the instructions. Pretty cool! I love it!
