If You Can Read This: The Philosophy of Bumper Stickers Bowen, Jack Paperback
    Apr 24, 2019
A study of bumper stickers and beliefs in a funny and thoughtful book
The author demonstrates with a profusion of examples of bumper stickers how and why persons believe in certain myrhs and ideologies. He is very capable of writing in a humorous vein, but there is much more to glean from his writing than some laughs. I urge you to read and share this book.
Stuck - Hardcover By Jeffers, Oliver - VERY GOOD
    Nov 09, 2020
More than a barrel of laughs!
When Floyd’s kite is STUCK in a tree, he throws items to try to dislodge the kite, but his choices are unusual and quickly become outrageous. The tree situation becomes otherworldly (and hilarious) while Floyd fumes at his failure to retrieve his kite until... This book is hilarious. I highly recommend.
Scaredy Squirrel Prepares for Christmas: A Safety Guide for Scaredies
    Jun 06, 2016
Children's book that could also qualify in the Self Help genre for Adults
The author Melanie Watt has a winning formula in her series of Scaredy Squirrel books. He's fearful of everything and imagines the worst scenarios happening in different settings, so he plans and prepares for whatever dreadful fate could come upon him. ("Playing dead" is a recurrent strategy. At the same time, he's sweet and lovable and he does end up enjoying himself and the experience or occasion. This Christmas book is made from the same mold and I thoroughly enjoyed his numerous safety tips. Children and a lot of adult readers will relate, empathize, and chuckle aloud.
