Gale-worthy
Just got to put this to the test last night in gale-force winds and sheet rain that split several trees in the neighborhood. The double layers and the sheer size kept us dry running from garage to door and back a couple times.
Only caution: It's big, really big, and so not lightweight. Would not be comfortable for a petite person.

Love it! Smooth operation, strong and durable
This is a high-quality retractable leash. For our 75-pound Doberman, it works great. The wide tape is smooth and strong, and retracts/extends silently and easily. Love the reflective color.
The lock/catch mechanism is a little flimsy, but does actually do the job effectively.
One issue: on our first walk to the beach, I dropped the leash when my dog lunged for a rabbit. After being dragged 10' in the sand, the handle/housing got a tiny amount of sand inside that required a LOT of work and patience to clear. It would be great if the housing were designed to be taken apart and reassembled if needed.
