Good for the price, but not quite five stars.
1 of 1 found this helpful I have this scope mounted on a 1942 Mosin-Nagant 91-30.
Almost everything about this scope is great. The mil-dot reticle is functional and easy to put on target. The lenses are clear and provide a crisp image even at maximum magnification. The scope even feels pretty solid for a lower/mid-range scope.
So why not five stars, right? It's the adjustment. While the scope is easy enough to adjust and sight in, it is a pain to adjust on the fly due to the covers and the fact that you need a screw driver or similar implement to adjust the dials. A minor thing to some, but an aggravation to a person who is used to being able to adjust a scope immediately and without tools.
Final verdict: There aren't a lot of good options for an LER scout scope. This is probably the best value for the cost that you can find. I'd go full Lee Iacocca on this one. If you can find a better scope, buy it.

Best hardpack tire for the money.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is, by far, the best hardpack tired I've run on my bike. I live in Wisconsin and we have a lot of "rails to trails" conversions here that are limestone gravel. A full knobby tire is overkill and hard to pedal, and slicks.... carry a lot of patches and a couple spare tubes. With this tire, the pedals turn easily and punctures are rare. The grip on these tires is great and allows for tight cornering on asphalt if you ride in town as well as on trails. The sidewalls can be a little spongy if you let your air pressure drop below 50psi. I always run mine at 60-65psi. The tire is fairly light weight for a 2.1" but weight isn't a factor for me, I still ride a 35lb rigid steely. And these tires hold up for a long time. They'll last a full season of daily biking as long as they remain rotated and properly inflated.
Bottom line: If you're looking for an affordable, functional, durable, work horse tire for asphalt or hard pack trails this is it, and you'll be hard pressed to do better.

Best Mosin Rail. PERIOD.
For starters I have this rail mounted on my 1942 Mosin-Nagant 91-30 rifle with an AIM Sports mil-dot LER scope. I changed out the stock on my rifle as well to an SV-98 style wood stock so there's no upper grip.
Install: 10/10. Thankfully my Mosin didn't have silver solder holding the original iron sight in place so after I hammered out the pins the old sight came off the dovetail with only a few hefty whacks from a mallet. The rail installed easily, and securely, on the dovetail. You do have to tap it into place with a mallet, but that's a good thing because it means it's not going to shake loose. The mounting screws went in easily and really help to secure the rail properly. It in NO WAY relies on the upper hand guard to hold in place so this would work with any stock.
Appearance 10/10. Seriously. It looks like it should just be standard equipment on this rifle.
Function 10/10. I've put about a hundred rounds through my rifle since installing this rail. It's still rock solid. Aside from allowing you to mount an LER scope onto an old battle rifle it also gives you the option of shooting over irons AND doesn't require that you have a bent bolt (depending on what scope you use I suppose.)
I honestly feel like I can't say enough good things about this product. Would buy again if the need arises.
