Great purchase due backwards compatibility
I purchased the console so I could play my Wii and Gamecube games. I suggest that you make sure to buy the first model released, as this version provides backwards compatibility for the Gamecube games.

Improves image quality
Totally recommended. You can easily notice the quality difference between regular AV and Component cables.
