BlueLab ph pen
3 of 3 found this helpful Ok, so I always had the cheaper brand yellow and black ph pen and wanted to upgrade. I paid the hefty fee for the Bluelab and followed the instructions with good results. I started noticing it took longer to settle out on the actual ph, so I got out my old yellow and black pen and tested with it. It responded to the ph quickly. Now my yellow and black has a time or two before acted the same but it does respond faster far more times than bluelab. Also the cap on the Bluelab is a real pain to remove! I feel like one day I will break the attached string taking off the cap. This feature really frustrates me. I would say hopefully they fix this feature, but I will not buy another anyway. Save yourself some money and buy the cheaper ph pen and maybe a liquid ph test kit as a backup
