Fascinating story, great old book
What a tale! The true life story of Georges Simenon, writer of the Maigret mysteries.
He is far more interesting and outrageous than any of his characters.
It is nice that we can access older books for very little cost.

Ivan Lins is fabulous; you already know his music
Ivan Lins is a composer and singer whose music is known worldwide.
However, so many of his melodies have been adapted to the language and style of
American musicians that you may know them, yet not know him.
The recent Barbara Streisand album contained a sexy, sensual song by Lins new to me.
I searched out no less than 10 of his CDs, some coming directly from Brazil, in the past few months.
You will adore his music. Experience it in the original form and in his native Portugese.
Some of your favorite melodies have had another, more pungent, more emotionally complex
life in their original form. What a great discovery, something in plain sight.
He deserves an audience that understands the maker and his music.
