A UV filter for everyday usage
Hoya is known for their quality control consistency in their products. I've used them for over 40 years.

Ill considered design
The 39mm filter is the native size for many Leica lenses of a previous generation. The original 39mm filter, even the early ones by Vivitar, were built to specs which allowed the placing of the native hood on those lenses. The hood has an internal ring. This filter's outer dimensions are too wide to fit a Leica lens hood. Hence, it makes this current 39mm size filter unusable on many Leica lenses. A shame, as the quality of the filter is good.
