Amazing silver dip
I am a fan of traditional paste silver polish, but when I started to collect filigree items and silver mesh purses, paste did not work. I was a little afraid to dip items of value in toxic chemicals, but what do you have to lose when the items look so awful and dull? Hagerty's Silver Dip beautified all my intricate, delicate silver items. I do not recommend that you soak items in it, as it tends to yellow the silver a bit. However, wiping the Dip on with a soft toothbrush worked very well. After the desired look is achieved, just clean the silver item with soap & water & dry thoroughly. I think I will not re-dip the items anytime soon, as the chemicals are harsh, and I have no idea what it actually does to the silver itself. For a one-time brighten-up, it's amazing!

20th Century Costume Jewelry
1 of 1 found this helpful A good resource for the more rare pieces of costume jewelry up to 1980. Excellent photography. If you like reading about the jewelry, you will like this book. If you're looking for a quick pricing reference, this is not the book for you.

Does not include inspired ideas or information. Disappointing.
I bought this for my niece and nephew. I had hoped it would be a good source of project ideas during the cold winter months. Unfortunately, most of the ideas require the purchase of specialty jewelry making supplies to which "junk" can be glued or stitched. Disappointing but possibly useful to a small degree.
