I love the look of this movie. And the story falls just short of Phantasm as one of the best Batman movies.
Vintage Sanyo DCX3300KA Quadraphonic Stereo Receiver Good Condition

    It's a Four Channel World
How can a nearly 50 year old quadraphonic receiver from 1974 outshine modern receivers? Easy. They were simply built to last and they sound better. Only $100 was the admission price to revisit a receiver from my youth and I was lucky that after a minor cleaning it looked nearly brand new. But what is impressive is the receiver's sound. Ultra clean with no distortion. I hooked up a blu-ray player using analog outputs and was quite satisfied with the sound quality. No need to find a quad turntable or 8-track deck as this blu-ray player has the 5.1 decoder which allowed me to easily check the quad inputs using the L/R front and L/R rear speaker terminals (the center and sub was not used). It all sounded excellent after the 4 channels were dialed in and level matched and soon I was listening to quadraphonic blu-rays and SACDs using 1974 technology as amplification. Quite impressive to say the least. Although I already have that ability (to hear quad) using my present system with HDMI, it was just so nice to sit and listen to a receiver that had "surround" capabilities years before Dolby made it popular. I was saddened when they gave up on quadraphonic many years ago. Well, no more as this receiver puts me right back into it again. What really has taught me a lesson is how I'd forgotten just how un-important this whole "watts" issue is in comparison to volume. I'm no engineer but this receiver is only a 16 - 20 watts per channel yet I can't even turn it up much more than a third without blowing myself out of the room. By comparison, my 200 WPC home theater system using outboard amplification has to go up much higher to achieve the same perceived volume results. I can't explain it (but I'm sure that someone out there can). In the end, this is a wonderful receiver that not sounds excellent but is a beauty to look at. I'm very proud to own it.
