West Coast Cover
1 of 1 found this helpful You need this cover to use the extended version of the rubber deflector. The longer deflector aims the chips down instead of almost straight back. A very nice article when cutting wood treated with creosote as that chemical has a tendency to cause irritation when in contact. It keeps your safety chaps or just pants cleaner from absorbing the irritating chemical. I recommend this cover and deflector for special applications.

Aftermarket Westcoast Cover
While not Stihl branded this is a metal cover that is of very good quality and comes with the long wide chip deflector. The Stihl dawgs, or felling spikes fit it perfect also. It is an excellent bargain and useful in deflecting chips away from saw operator.
