Finding an old friend
I read this novel when I was about 14 and reading it again opened doorways to those days, but also gave me new insights as I was now reading it with the knowledge of an adult. The copy itself was in very good shape, quite better than I imagined it would be and it was a great bargain at the price. What makes it even more interesting is that it was written in the early 1930,s and reflects a world before Hitler but with Mussolini around. it is one of the early apocalyptical type novels and you can see the pattern for others such as Lucifer's Hammer. For many reasons I recommend any Sci-fi reader to get ahold of a copy.

An excellen addition to the series.
If you have wanted a family friendly, clean, romantic story, this series is it! This particular disk was good for us because it had captions. Be careful if you need captions as some of them don't have them. Ask about the disks being sold. There are a few flaws in the plot line, but nothing you can't just look past without spoiling the story. (It starts off with the location being "Coal Valley", but as one who grew up in coal country as a boy some 60 years ago, I can tell you it doesn't have the look of a coal town. Plus there is no rail line to it. Coal was only profitable if there was at least a rail spur to transport the coal to market.) .But still, we enjoy watching it together, and so will you.

Story good, DVD not
1 of 2 found this helpful We love this series and couldn't wait to start collecting it on DVD. What a disappointment it was to find that the disk we purchased does NOT have subtitles. We both are of age and have hearing problems. By increasing the volume and using our hearing aids we can somewhat enjoy the disk.
