Install went well and ride is better on my neck. The extreme rise does draw attention to itself. See tips::
I've discovered the comfort of raising the cockpit as I'm dealing with neck issues. This bar allowed me to get really up there on my vintage Cannondale H500 without going extreme with via high-rise bars similar to a stingray haha. The overall style/appearance of the bike with the new bars is a bit too modified for my taste, with the 5" rise a bit extreme. But in the end, it gave me the comfort in riding I wanted to achieve. If you're concerned about retaining a balanced appearance for your vintage MTB and you could handle a bit less "rise" of the bars - I would for instance, consider a 3.5"; that would maintain normal appearance for most bikes in my opinion. Be aware that an extreme rise mod via new bars or stem riser may require replacing your current cables with longer ones. I had to thread the shifter/brake levers on the bar before completely setting the bars into the stem area. Luckily, I just had enough length! The bars are basic high-gloss steel with no markings except at the area in the stem clamp. I slid old grips on with a little soapy water inside each one. For removing them from previous bars - I inserted a flathead under the grip, and used a dropper to drip some soapy water prior to removing them.

Replaced my damaged entry level fork with this since it was discounted substantially being 2021 model
I replace (forced upgraded) my bent Giant Crest 130mm fork with this Fox Factory 34 Float Fork - 27.5" 140mm FiT4 3pos Adj Boost Taper 44mm. Perfect fit. A bit plusher than the entry level Crest. Super quiet vs the Crest. 2021 last year's stock was discounted generously so I went for it and glad I did. For an intermediate rider there is a subtle difference. I am told by my mechanic that it's a good shock to service vs. the Crest. I really like the appearance of the Kashima anodized stanchions.
