2 of 4 found this helpful If you’re using 100 or 200 watts I guess is ok but in if u use it to use the legal maximum of 1,500 watts it will eventually burn. Not just me but others have experience the same problem with the Teflon melting on ham bands......
Save a few more dollars and buy a colosal 5k, 10k, and if you get the din 7/16 is a 15k and handle 100 mph winds +

To install them is a little challenging but once installed the work great and gives you the option to refurbish your bird meter
